Chemist

Are you passionate about green chemistry and how to eliminate the use of harmful chemicals used in plant cultivation? Arevo is seeking a skilled Chemist to join our research and development team. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge, environmentally-friendly plant nutrition to help shape the future of sustainable cultivation practices. Responsibilities include new and existing product development and improvement, small-scale production of new formulations in laboratory settings, monitoring product quality, analyzing the chemical composition and properties of raw materials and finished products as well as assisting in training of the RnD team and assisting product certification. You will also support the scale-up production of novel formulations together with our production team. You will work within a cross-functional team which is why we are looking for a candidate that has the ability to function effectively in a team and displays a high level of self-motivation. You have no problems with maintaining accurate records of experimental data and results and staying current with scientific literature and industry trends to inform product development efforts.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in chemistry or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of previous experience in agricultural chemistry or related industry.
  • Knowledge about organo–mineral interactions, phosphate chemistry, metal chemistry, amino acid properties.
  • Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques and instrumentation. Strong analytical skills (esp. spectroscopic methods) is required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity to handle complex problem solution and “hands on” attitude.
  • Fluent in English and/or Swedish, willingness to learn Swedish will be considered as meritorious.
