Bioinformation / Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated bioinformatition / data scientist that will support Arevo in data management.
Key activities
- Data collection and integration.
- Data preprocessing to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness, handling missing data, outliers, and data formatting.
- Normalize and transform data for analysis, ensuring the datasets are ready for modeling and statistical analysis.
- Data analysis and modeling: Apply advanced statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling to analyze field data and identify key trends, correlations, and actionable insights. Develop models that predict crop yields, soil health, or other key performance indicators based on various environmental and biological factors.
- Interpreting results and guiding product development: Interpret and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that guide product development and decision-making. Provide recommendations based on data findings to improve crop productivity, sustainability, and product formulations.
- Reporting: Communicate findings effectively through reports, dashboards, and visualizations, making the results accessible to stakeholders (e.g., R&D team, leadership, and customers).
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Agricultural Science, or a related field with a strong understanding of both agricultural science and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in Statistical Analysis & Machine Learning: Expertise in statistical methods, predictive modeling, and machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis) to handle and interpret large, complex agricultural data. Proficient in using JMP and programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Ability to Work Independently & Guide Decision Making: Strong independent work ethic, capable of managing complex data analysis tasks with minimal supervision while meeting project deadlines.
- Ability to interpret data findings and provide actionable insights to influence product development, ensuring alignment with agricultural goals and objectives.
- Collaborative mindset with a proven track record of working with cross-functional teams to apply data insights in practical product development scenarios.
