Senior plant pathologist/plant microbiologist

Are you passionate about sustainable plant cultivation by focusing on natural processes such as beneficial soil microbes? Arevo is seeking a skilled talent from the field of soil/plant microbiology or phytopathology to join our research and development team.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge, environmentally-friendly plant nutrition to help shape the future of sustainable cultivation practices. Responsibilities include to build up a microbial testing platform at Arevo, where you test Arevo’s technologies with respect to microbial performance and plant development / productivity. The successful candidate will also evaluate the performance of Arevo’s technology with respect to disease control in crop production.

You will work hand in hand with our interdisciplinary RnD team, supporting product development. Hence, we are looking for a candidate that has the ability to function effectively in a team and displays a high level of self-motivation. You have no problems with maintaining accurate records of experimental data and results and staying current with scientific literature and industry trends to inform product development efforts.

Qualifications:
  • Completed master’s degree in agronomy, microbiology, plant pathology, or similar; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial research within the topics of plant-microorganism interactions, plant growth promoting microorganisms, plant pathogens and establishing plant pathosystems.
  • Proficiency in standard microbiological laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in biosafety procedures and aseptic techniques are strongly required as well as ensuring adherence to GLP.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity to handle complex problem solution and “hands on” attitude.
  • Fluent in English and/or Swedish, willingness to learn Swedish will be considered as meritorious.
