Peter Sandsjö, with over 40 years of forestry experience, joins Arevo

Forestry and sustainability have always been his passion, and even after more than 40 years in the industry, the chainsaw remains an essential tool. Our new colleague, Peter Sandsjö, is now taking on the role of salesman, aiming to enhance efficient and sustainable forest regeneration both in nurseries and out in the field.

Can you tell us a little about your background and who you are?

– Forests and timber mean so much to me! Since early childhood, nature and the environment have been my biggest interests, something I probably inherited from my grandfather. I began my forestry career with hands-on work in the woods, then went on to earn my degree from the Swedish Forest Management School (Skogsmästarskolan). Since then, I’ve worked for forest companies and sawmills, and I still enjoy the feeling of firing up the chainsaw. When I tally up the years, I’ve spent more than four decades working with forests and timber. I also support private forest owners with forestry advice.

What made you interested in Arevo?

– Sustainability and environmental responsibility are becoming increasingly important, not least with the EU deforestation regulation coming into effect. Tree planting is especially close to my heart because it’s where the forest of the future begins. When I read about the high failure rates in reforestation and the huge costs it creates for landowners, I became very interested in Arevo’s solutions for improving seedling survival.

What are you most looking forward to in your new position?

– Arevo gives me the opportunity to contribute to more sustainable forestry by helping reduce nitrogen leakage, whether in nurseries or directly in the field. I also hope to share my own experience, while continuing to learn from others.

Have you learned anything surprising since you joined Arevo?

– The level of knowledge within the company is impressive, and the innovation mindset is real. As people say, “the sky is the limit”, and that’s truly how it feels here.
